EXPERT PSYCHOLOGISTS ON HARLEY STREET IN LONDON

Specialist insight, thoughtful support, tailored to you.

If you are looking for experienced psychologists in London, Psyche Clinic provides specialist private psychological assessment and therapy in a discreet and professional setting.

All of our psychologists are fully qualified, holding doctoral-level training in clinical psychology from leading UK universities and postgraduate programmes accredited by the British Psychological Society. Each has extensive experience working within the NHS prior to entering private practice.

We are intentionally a small clinic. Every appointment is delivered by a senior specialist, ensuring continuity, depth of expertise and individualised care.

WHAT IS CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY?

Clinical psychology is a discipline concerned with the assessment, understanding and treatment of mental health difficulties, emotional distress and behavioural challenges.

As doctoral-level practitioners, clinical psychologists are trained to evaluate the psychological, social and developmental factors that contribute to a person's difficulties. They deliver evidence-based talking therapies tailored to the individual's presentation, drawing on approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), EMDR, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and psychodynamic therapy.

A thorough psychological assessment considers current symptoms alongside personal history, life circumstances and previous mental health experiences in order to reach an accurate formulation and guide appropriate treatment.

OUR APPROACH

At Psyche Clinic, care is rooted in clinical excellence, compassion and individualisation. We understand that seeking psychological support can feel significant. Our environment is professional yet approachable, helping clients feel at ease from the outset.

We take time to understand how difficulties have developed in the context of your life. Treatment planning is collaborative. Options are discussed openly and agreed together.

Where a specific therapeutic approach is recommended, we explain clearly why it is suited to your needs and what you can expect from the process.

If a combined approach is indicated — for example, where both psychological therapy and psychiatric input would be beneficial — we work seamlessly alongside our consultant psychiatrists to provide fully integrated care.

WE DRAW FROM A RANGE OF ESTABLISHED APPROACHES, INCLUDING:

PRIVATE PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT IN LONDON: WHAT TO EXPECT

Your initial psychological assessment at Psyche Clinic lasts approximately one hour and is conducted by a qualified clinical psychologist.

At the beginning of the consultation, your psychologist will introduce themselves and ensure you feel comfortable and at ease. We recognise that seeking support for your mental health can feel daunting, and we aim to create a professional yet warm environment from the outset.

The assessment is comprehensive. Your psychologist will explore your current concerns in detail and develop a thorough psychological history, including:

  • A timeline of your mental health symptoms and difficulties

  • Your personal, family and developmental history

  • Relevant medical conditions and any previous treatment

  • Current or previous medications

  • Significant life events and contextual factors

This detailed evaluation allows your psychologist to develop a clear formulation — an understanding of how your difficulties have developed and are maintained — which forms the foundation of effective, targeted treatment.

At the end of the assessment, your psychologist will explain their clinical understanding and outline recommended treatment options based on established evidence-based guidelines.

All treatment plans are developed collaboratively. We ensure that you understand the rationale for any recommendations and that any proposed plan is both clinically appropriate and acceptable to you.

Treatment may involve individual therapy, a structured programme of sessions, or a combination of psychological and psychiatric support where indicated.

A SAFE SPACE FOR EXPLORATION & GROWTH

We understand that seeking therapy can be daunting. At the Psyche Clinic, we create a space where you feel heard, supported, and empowered—free from judgement and grounded in expertise.
