Assessments and follow up appointments may take place in person at 10 Harley Street which is a very comfortable setting, or may take place remotely via zoom which many patients find more convenient as there is no need to travel to appointments.
What is Psychiatry?
Psychiatry is a medical specialty focused on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of mental, emotional, and behavioural disorders. Our psychiatrists are medical doctors who have completed medical and psychiatry training in prestigious UK universities and training programmes.
Psychiatrists can assess both the psychological and physical aspects of mental health, and where appropriate, prescribe medication as part of a personalised treatment plan and recommend the appropriate type of psychological intervention for the presenting issues.

Our Approach
At Psyche Clinic, our approach is rooted in offering expert opinion and treatment based on best available current clinical evidence and following evidence based treatment protocols.
Clinical excellence, compassion, and personalisation is at our core. We recognise that seeing a professional for your mental health struggle can be wary prospect. We pride ourselves in being friendly and relatable which our patients notice from the outset which places them at ease.
We take time to understand you and how the problems arose and taking a full history of your presenting problems in the context of your life so far and any previous mental health struggles you may have had.
When formulating a plan for treatment this is done collaboratively with you the patient and will come up with a recommended plan together that is acceptable to you.
If medication is recommended the rationale will be clearly explained and any benefits or potential side effects will be discussed with you.
When considering therapeutic options we will discuss the particular therapeutic modality recommended and why, as not all therapies are the same with some being more suitable for some conditions and not others. We will link you up with one of our highly trained therapists who is able to offer the right kind of therapy for your particular issues.

During your initial consultation, your psychiatrist will introduce themselves and let you feel at ease and comfortable.
We pride ourselves in being friendly and relatable knowing that for many the idea of seeing someone for their mental health may itself be stressful.
We will take a comprehensive history, explore current challenges and take a timeline of your mental health history and a history of your life to date and other medical issues or medications you have and any problems within the family.
At the end of the assessment our psychiatrist will explain what their understanding of the issues are and explain what treatments are recommended based on best evidence based treatment. All plans are decided in collaboration with you and we will ensure that you understand why any proposed treatments are being recommended along with the hoped for benefits and any potential side effects of any. It is important that any treatment plan both makes sense to you and is acceptable with you.
