PROFESSOR MARC SERFATY

Professor Marc Serfaty is a highly experienced Consultant Psychiatrist and accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) psychotherapist with over 35 years of clinical experience. He is one of the few dual-trained consultants specialising in both pharmacological and psychological treatments, offering an integrated and evidence-based approach to mental healthcare.

Professor Serfaty is a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (FRCPsych) and a Fellow of the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (FBABCP). He is recognised as an Approved Clinician under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act and is listed on the GMC Specialist Register for Psychiatry.

Alongside his clinical work, Professor Serfaty is Professor of Psychotherapy Research at University College London (UCL), where he has contributed extensively to undergraduate and postgraduate medical education. He is also actively involved in teaching and supervising psychiatry trainees, CBT therapists and psychology students.

His specialist interests include depression, anxiety disorders, CBT, sleep disorders, and complex mood presentations.
